As you can imagine, our citizens strategy involves website design. A strategy to save citizen money is by building easy to manage websites on the Squarespace Platform. Thus, we need a:
Squarespace Designer + Developer
The mission of DBC is to Reduce the Noise. In order to help our citizens communicate directly with their target audiences, we need to produce effective creative that achieves our shared goals. We need to move quickly, and measure our success to keep citizens satisfied and loyal. Your job will be to create amazing and effective websites for citizens on the Squarespace Platform. We'll know if you've succeeded the websites launch on time and function as intended.
Our creative team is looking for a Squarespace designer/developer to join us in a temporary basis. This is a fully remote position. Your pay will be based on experience, previous work portfolio, and project scope. The right candidate will be well-versed in design standards for websites and be able to show us examples of previous sites built using Squarespace. You will work with our creative team to ensure that projects are designed according to the project specs and timeline. Transparency and communication are required through projects to ensure we give each partner a site they are happy with.
Responsibilities
• Develop and design new websites by taking a project brief and making a partner’s website come to life
• Strong time-management skills, including the ability to meet all project deadlines on time
• Continued knowledge and growth of the Squarespace platform as it changes and improves
• Extend the platform beyond its limits, as needed, using your own code (Custom CSS) and more!
• Incorporate principles of visual design and usability to make the site delightful to use
Qualifications
• 2+ years minimum Squarespace experience
• A portfolio that shows strong design creativity using no-code and strategic thinking for a final product that is easy to manage for the end-user
• A portfolio that shows the use of code while maintaining a quick and functioning site
• Graphic Design – attention to small details and ability to create graphic elements to support site design
• Coding knowledge of Squarespace Custom CSS or Code
• Understanding of a variety of styles and design needs across many different business types
• B1 or higher level English proficiency
